Zeus

The King of the Gods, the God of sky and weather, law, order and fate. He was depicted as a regal man, mature with sturdy figure and dark beard. His usual attributes were a lightning bolt, royal sceptre and eagle. Zeus is the child of Cronus and Rhea, and the youngest of his siblings. Zeus overthew his Father Cronus. He then drew lots with his brothers Poseidon and Hades. Zeus won the draw and became the supreme ruler of the gods. He is married to Hera but, is famous for his many affairs. He is also known to punish those that lie or break oaths. he was called Jupiter by the Romans.
Poseidon

The Great Olympian God of the sea, rivers, flood and drought, earthquakes, and horses. His main domain is the ocean, and he is called the "God of the Sea". Additionally, he is referred to as "Earth-Shaker" due to his role in causing earthquakes, and has been called the "tamer of horses". He was depicted as a mature man of sturdy build with a dark beard, and holding a trident. He was widely worshiped by seamen. He married Amphitrite, a granddaughter of the Titan Oceanus. He was Neptune in the Romans.
Dionysus

The God of fertility and wine, later considered a patron of the arts. He invented wine and spread the art of tending grapes. He was depicted as either an older bearded god or a pretty effeminate, long-haired youth.His attributes included the thyrsos (a pine-cone tipped staff), drinking cup, leopard and fruiting vine. He was usually accompanied by a troop of Satyrs and Mainades (female devotees or nymphs). He has a dual nature. On the one hand bringing joy and devine ecstasy. On the other brutal, unthinking, rage. Thus, reflecting both sides of wines nature..He was also known as Bacchus, the name adopted by the Romans. It is said that Hestia, goddess of hearth, gave up her throne and gave it to Dionysus.
Apollo

The son of Zeus and Leto. His twin sister is Artemis. He is the God of music, playing a golden lyre. The Archer, far shooting with a silver bow. The god of healing who taught man medicine. The god of light. The god of truth, who can not speak a lie. The great Olympian god of prophecy and oracles, He was depicted as a handsome, beardless youth with long hair and various attributes including:--a wreath and branch of laurel; bow and quiver; raven; and lyre. Hymns sung to Apollo were called paeans.
Ares

The great Olympian god of war, battlelust, civil order and manly courage. He was a son of Zeus and Hera. He was disliked by both parents. In Greek art, he was depicted as either a mature, bearded warrior dressed in battle arms, or a nude beardless youth with helm and spear. He is well known as the lover of Aphrodite, the goddess of love who was married to Hephaestus, god of craftsmanship, but the most famous story involving the couple shows them exposed to ridicule through the wronged husband's clever device. The counterpart of Ares among the Roman gods is Mars.
Hephaestus

Hephaestus is the son of Zeus and Hera. Sometimes it is said that Hera alone produced him and that he has no father. He is the only god to be physically ugly. He is also lame.was the Greek god of technology, blacksmiths, craftsmen, artisans, sculptors, metals, metallurgy, fire and volcanoes. Being the most unfaltering of the gods, was given Aphrodite’s hand in marriage by Zeus to prevent conflict over her between the other gods. He was usually depicted as a bearded man holding hammer and tongs--the tools of a smith--and riding a donkey. Hephaestus' Roman equivalent was Vulcan.
Hermes

Hermes was the great Olympian God of animal husbandry, roads, travel, hospitality, heralds, diplomacy, trade, thievery, language, writing, persuasion, cunning wiles, athletic contests, gymnasiums, astronomy, and astrology. He was also the personal agent and herald of Zeus. Hermes is the son of Zeus and Maia. He is the fastest of the gods. He is the guide for the dead to go to the underworld. He wears winged sandals, a winged hat, and carries a magic wand. Hermes was depicted as either a handsome and athletic, beardless youth, or as an older bearded man. Hermes was identified with the Roman god Mercury
